If I must choose, the best contemporary art museum in Miami, it is the Perez.     The Perez exhibits some of the best contemporary art from Latin, African Diaspora, and Caribbean artists.   All the Miami contemporary art museums  are great, yet different. These short articles will help you choose the best Museum to visit.

The Perez Museum  is huge, yet laid out very well. Allowing for social distancing during this post Coronavirus.    Your visit can be a short 2 hours, if you are moving briskly through.   Or make it half or full day doing lunch at the facility or visiting neighboring museums and parks.  Ample Parking in the garage below the museum.   Restaurant and cafe on premises.  And a great gift shop makes the Perez Museum #1 on my best Museums of Miami list.

Subject matter

Miami,  is a melting pot.  And the Curation of the Perez museum mirrors the best parts of miami.  The passion, precision, and diversity of the city is mirrored in the Curation of the Perez museum.    Some museums focus more on political and cerebral themes.  MOCA North Miami is one such gallery, and the ICA to a lesser degree.    The Perez curation does leans more towards beautiful artworks,  and less emphasis toward conveyance of information. Not that the works are apolitical, they may be.  Im suggesting the beauty has been maintained, while also conveying pertinent messages.

In my experience, the Perez is like a fine wine or a beautiful Jazz song.  Smooth and well balanced to satisfy most discerning contemporary art fans, as well as the more casual observer.    The art in the Perez Museum Miami is ALL top quality.  Carmen Herrera is a favorite of mine, and I was excited to snap a photo beside one of her works on my recent trip to The Perez Miami.
