Looking for art? Florida, is full of galleries, Museums, and artists studios. The art Tradition Started long before the Florida Highwaymen. If you are not aware, the Florida Highwaymen were a group of African American Artists who traveled the countryside of Florida, painting the picturesque landscapes.

Large amounts of foreign and domestic wealth coming into Florida to live and vacation. And many artists and galleries to meet that need. And some great museums too.

One of my favorites(though its not contemporary art) is the John RIngling Museum in Sarasota. The Orlando Museum of Arts is another phenomenal, yet often overlooked museum.

This guide is dedicated to helping you find the better contemporary art galleries, museums, and collections. We have put an asterisk beside our favorite ones. And you can click into the website and instagram accounts of the galleries, and museums. This way you can see the quality and curation level. Speaking of, there is alot of lower quality and tourist art for sale in Florida too. Many very polished looking galleries selling bad art, for high prices. And, its our goal to help steer you into the better galleries, and away from the tourist trap art galleries.

Miami, is a heavy weight in contemporary art Galleries and Museums. And its not hard to make a solid case for Miami being superior to Chelsea NYC, with the wealth of cultures and artistic talent coming into Miami. Are you wanting to see emergent artists who are changing the game? Then Miami is a great place to start. Want to buy 2nd market artworks from Van Gogh or Manet? There are many other smaller, less concentrated art markets in Florida with Good galleries. Palm beach seems to be an up and coming art market, Particularly for 2nd market artworks. Cruise down worth avenue and you can find 2nd market artworks such as Picasso, Monet, and Warhol. Established galleries such as PAce , Levy Gorvy, and many other established galleries seem to be entering palm beach. West palm beach has some emergent art Primary, emergent art Galleries such as Brintz. In West Palm Beach you also have Habatat, which is a glass sculpture art gallery.

Orlando has the Orlando Museum of art, which is certainly bringing in great talent and exhibitions of contemporary art. And Florida is a Hot bed for Fine Photography. The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts.

3. What is the Museum of Fine Arts St Petersburg? Founded by Margaret Acheson Stuart and opened in 1965. The Museum intimately shows antiquities as well as contemporary works, as was the intention of Margaret Stuart.

4. What is the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts? Founded in 2001 by Cynthia L. Flowers, and relocated to Waterfront Arts District in Rivergate Plaza in 2006. The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is a beautiful staple serving the Tampa community and beyond.
